This song was built very quickly from a tiny idea for a drum beat that popped into my head. I wanted something in 6/8 with emphasis on the wrong beats - listen for the placement of the snare rolls to see what I mean. I wanted the kind of beat confusion you get from Radiohead's Pyramid Song - where is the one?! Once that groove was recorded, the guitar parts came fast and easily. For the bridge, I wanted that Strokes kind of guitar tone, something that cuts through the mix and hits you in the face. This is probably my favourite tune in this new batch of songs.
